Hyogo Sergeant Resigns After Leaving Gun in Public Bathroom, Moonlighting as a Prostitute

A 27 year old Hyogo prefect police sergeant has resigned, after it was discovered she was also working as a prostitute.

Kobe Shimbun Next, Kyodo News, and Hachima Kiko are reporting that on September 29th, the sergeant had left her belt, handcuffs, and loaded gun in a public restroom at Aioi Station, Aioi City. Thankfully a member of the public turned the gun into a police station.

An internal investigation into the sergeant began, during which her second job became more apparent. Between May and September, the sergeant had been working as a “delivery health” girl. While such services publicly claim to offer health and relaxation treatments, it is an open secret these treatments are sex.

The sergeant is said to have worked during the holidays and days she finished her police work early. Having earned Â¥300,000 per “service” ($2,800), she spent the money on luxuries such as restaurants.

Japanese law prohibits government employees from taking second jobs, not to mention rules against civil servants taking part in “disreputable behavior.” While Hyogo Prefectural Police announced the sergeant had been given a one month suspension on October 18th, the announcement also stated the sergeant had resigned.
