Kyoto Animation Fire Donations Will Be Used Solely for Victims’ Families

Kyoto Animation, a popular anime production studio that suffered an awful arson attack that left dozens dead and more injured, are using the donations received for their recovery solely for the victims’ families of the attack.

The news was announced via Shinichi Isa, the head of the House of Representatives Finance Committee. The attack left 35 dead and many wounded, of which the studio is still recovering from.

The funds initially came in from millions of heartbroken fans, along with a large one billion yen (US$10.1 million) from X-Japan frontman (and our Editor-in-Chief’s personal hero) Yoshiki.

Isa also noted that Kyoto Animation will be holding memorial services, which fans can attend, on November 3rd and 4th, at Kyoto’s Miyako Messe conference center. Further will come in the near future.
