Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna First English Sub Trailer, Premier February 21

Toei Animation has been revealed new information on their upcoming film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.

A follow-up to the Digimon Adventure tri. series (which in itself was a follow-up of the original anime), the series was initially teased back in October, showing the second Digimon anime season’s characters.

On December 12th, two novelizations were confirmed via the film’s official website (via Comic Natalie, and Anime News Network). While the Asahi Kawabata novel is aimed at an elementary and middle-school reading level (published by Mirai Bunko) complete with color illustrations, the Ryōsuke Maki novel (published by Dash X Bunko) will include additional scenes not found in the film.

On December 17th, the film’s first non-teaser trailer was released (you can find the English sub-titled version above), revealing more of the movie’s premise and plot. The film also coincides with the franchise’ 20th anniversary.

The trailer uses a new version of original Digmon series opening, Butter-Fly. It will act as the theme for the movie, and was sung by the late Kouji Wada (who sung the original Butter-Fly, along with other Digimon themes). Ayumi Miyazaki, and AiM will provide additional songs and the ending theme for the film.
