Junichi Goto, Inferno Cop Voice Actor, Passes Away at 40 After Motorcycle Accident

Junichi Goto

Junichi Goto, the voice actor for Inferno Cop in the anime of the same name, has passed away at 40, after a motorcycle accident.

Anime News Network reports (citing 47 News, Mainichi, and Esuteru) that Goto collided with a wall on February 24th. While he was unconscious as he was transported to hospital, he was later declared dead.

Goto’s most prominent roll was in Inferno Cop as the main character. The 2012 anime soon gained memetic status thanks to its limited animation style, combined with its absurd humor. The character also made a cameo in Space Patrol Luluco.

Goto also worked on Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor (Shigi Taishiji), along with roles in Ninja Slayer From Animation, Tegami Bachi: Reverse, and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.
