• Uma Musume Pretty Derby Spin-Off Umayon Premieres July 2020

    Developer Cygames announced in their most recent promotional video that the anime for Umayon will be premiering July 2020.

    Umayon is a spinoff series for Uma Musume Pretty Derby which aired in 2018, and is based off the 2017 manga series written by S. Kosugi of the same name.


    Uma Musume Pretty Derby follows the horse girl Special Week who moves to Tokyo to become the best horse girl in Japan. Once she’s in Tokyo, Special Week joins the Tracen Academy where horse girls are trained to perform in races.

    Cygames, the creator of Uma Musume Pretty Derby (or Cycomics for the manga) is also known for their other mobile games such as Rage of Bahamut, Dragalia Lost, and Granblue Fantasy. The mobile game for Uma Musume Pretty Derby was originally supposed to launch in 2018 but was pushed back and has yet to be released.

    Umayon will begin airing July 2020.
