Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Ends Serialization

The popular series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has officially ended on May 18th, after publishing its final chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump.

According to the news site Comic Natalie, chapter 205 that released in this week’s Weekly Shonen Jump will be the final chapter for the main series. The series finished off with a 24-page full color spread, which became the primary feature advertised in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Beginning in 2016 by author and artist Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba takes place in a historical fantasy version of Taisho-era Japan. Tanjiro Kamado is the child of charcoal sellers, and is out selling his families wares when they are attacked by demons.

By the time he returns home, his parents are dead and his sister has been corrupted. In order to save his sister and defeat the demon that killed his parents, Tanjiro gets himself recruited by the demon slayer Giyu Tomioka.

Although the manga series has finished, there is still more Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba to come. As reported on previously here at Nicchiban, an anime movie is premiering in Japan later this year. The summary for the movie can be found below via the official English website.

Falling forever into an endless dream…

Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time.

Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train on track to despair.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is available to read on the official site of its English publisher VIZ.
