Poupelle of Chimney Town

Film producer Toho has released the first three minutes of the upcoming animated film Poupelle of Chimney Town in anticipation of the film’s premiere.

As we reported previously, Poupelle of Chimney Town is an upcoming feature film based off a children’s picture book by creator Akihiro Nishino. The film follows a small boy named Lubicchi who lives in a town covered in thick smog.

Despite the smoke covering the sky he wants to see the stars, even though most of the adults around him think stars aren’t real and it’s a fool’s errand. With a strange robot companion, Lubicchi sets off on an adventure to discover the truth about stars and his smog-covered town.
