Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life Anime Series Announced

Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life

An anime adaptation of the light novel and manga series Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Daini no Shokugyo wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita (shortened to Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life) has been announced.

The upcoming anime series was officially announced on the Twitter page for the series. The project will be animated by studio Revoroot whose other works include FLCL Alternative and I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level.

The mouthful of a title can be translated to The Otherworldly Life of a Reincarnated Sage – I Became the Strongest in the World by Acquiring a Second Profession according to translation service DeepL. The series follows an employee from a “black” company (a Japanese slang term that refers to a company that’s greedy to the point of abusing and overworking employees) who’s reincarnated into a fantasy world.

However upon his reincarnation he’s given the job of Monster Tamer which is considered weak in this new world. A chance opportunity sees him gaining a second class, and with the combined powers of a Sage and a Monster Tamer he begins his new fantasy life.

The isekai genre has exploded in popularity in recent years thanks to titles like That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord. The isekai genre (literally: “Other World”) features protagonists who have otherwise been reincarnated or summoned to another world.

The genre features cliches like overpowered heroes and RPG-like mechanics. Since the genre’s popularity boom, multiple creators have tried their hand at it and taken pains to put a unique spin on it.

Other recent isekai series include So I’m a Spider, So What?, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World!, Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World, and many more.

A release date for Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life has yet to be announced.
