Good-bye Cramer Premieres April 4

Good-bye Cramer

The upcoming sports anime Good-bye Cramer will premiere on April 4th as part of the Spring 2021 anime season.

Good-bye Cramer follows Sumire Suo, a young girl whose middle school soccer career didn’t amount to much. But after joining high school, her middle school rival Midori Soshizaki plans to join the same team of her to encourage Suo.

A trailer for the upcoming series can be found below.

Good-bye Cramer is based off the manga series by Naoshi Arakawa which began in 2016 in Monthly Shonen Magazine. The series ended in December 2020 after 13 volumes.

A summary of the series from Kodansha Comics can be found below.

“With no soccer accomplishments to speak of during the entirety of Sumire Suo’s junior high school years, the young wing gets an odd offer. Suo’s main rival, Midori Soshizaki, invites her to join up on the same team in high school, with a promise that she’ll never let Suo “play alone.” It’s an earnest offer, but the question is whether Suo will take her up on it. Thus the curtain opens on a story that collects an enormous cast of individual soccer-playing personalities!”

Good-bye Cramer is the same franchise as Farewell, My Dear Cramer the anime has just been given a different English title than the manga. Farewell, My Dear Cramer First Touch is still expected to premiere this summer.
