The original TV anime Aquatope of White Sand will premiere this July as part of the Summer 2021 anime season.
The release date for the series was announced on the anime’s official Twitter page alongside a new PV. The PV includes a first look at the series as well as some of the characters and voice cast.

The story follows Kukuru Misakino, a young woman working at an aquarium. There she meets Fuuka Miyazawa, a former idol from Tokyo who put that life behind her. Together the two spend their days at the aquarium and through their new friendship explore their feelings and what they want to do going forward with their whole life ahead of them.
Aquatope of White Sand is the latest series from P.A. Works, an animation studio largely known for their animation work on the Professor Layton video game series as well as the film Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. Since then, the studio has gone on to animate well-known titles such as Shirobako, Hanasaku Iroha, and the recent Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.
