Demon Slayer: Mugen Train First Official Trailer, Premieres October 16 in Japan

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train

The official Twitter for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series has released the first trailer for the movie Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. The trailer confirms the premiere date of the movie in Japanese theaters.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba began as a manga series in 2016 by Koyoharu Gotoge. The show takes place in Taisho-era Japan, and follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young man who supports his family.

While away from home, his family is attacked by demons; his parents are killed and his sister is corrupted- but seemingly not beyond saving. He’s approached by a demon slayer named Giyu Tomioka, and he begins a journey to avenge his family and purify his sister.

The film seemingly adapts chapters 54 through 69 of the manga. Tanjiro and friends board the Infinity Train to find demon slayer Kyojuro Rengoku, hoping to learn the Hinokami Kagura breath style.

However, Kyojuro has been sent to investigate strange disappearances on the train, and kill the demon likely behind it. As people begin to fall asleep, no one can be sure who will be left alive when the train reaches its final stop.

According to the official English site, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train will be directed by Haruo Sotozaki; he is also the director of the main anime series. Similarly Ufotable will be the animation studio producing the film, continuing their work from the anime.

You can watch the official trailer below (via Youtube).

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train will premiere in Japanese theaters October 16th, and Coming Soon to the west.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is available to watch on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and VRV.
