Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro

More cast announcements have been made for the upcoming romantic comedy Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro which will premiere in the spring of next year.

As reported by Anime News Network, the cast announcement and premiere date were reportedly printed on the wrap-around jacket band for the ninth volume of the series. The series is being worked on by Telecom Animation Film, an animation studio known for their work on Lupin the 3rd Part IV: The Italian Adventure, Orange, and the 1989 film Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland.

Sumire Uesaka is slated to voice the titular Nagatoro. She’s also known for her roles as Sanae Dekomori in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Anastasia in The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, and Shalltear Bloodfallen in Overlord.

Daiki Yamashita will be voicing the male lead known only as Senpai. He’s also known for his roles as Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Academia, Sakamichi Onoda in Yowamushi Pedal, and Goh in Pokemon Journeys.

The rest of the cast includes

  • Mikako Komatsu as Gamo
  • Aina Suzuki as Yosshii
  • Shiori Izawa as Sakura

Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro is a romantic comedy similar in tone to the recent Uzaki-chan Wants to Play. Nagatoro is a confident underclassman who constantly teases her nerdy senior known only as Senpai throughout the series. The teasing varies in tone from flirtatious to cruel, but it might be that Nagatoro hides hidden feelings for her bashful Senpai.

You can read the plot summary from English publisher Vertical below.

Nagatoro is a freshman in high school who loves teasing and torturing her older male classmate (Senpai).
What is her motivation and why does Senpai put up with her?
Does Nagatoro just want to create misery for Senpai? Or maybe she secretly likes him?

Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro will premiere in the spring of next year.
