Furry Manga “BEASTARS” Gets an Anime Adaptation

Every once in awhile a show catches my eye despite my initial reaction that I might not like it, but the more I look into it, the more interesting it seems. BEASTARS is one of those. We’ve now learned the manga is getting a TV anime adaptation.

The first episode premieres on Netflix October 9th, and every following Thursday. Featured above, a 10 min preview of the first episode was revealed.

BEASTARS is a story about anthropomorphized animal students in a college campus, dealing with a murderer in their midst after an alpaca named Tom is slaughtered in their music room late one night.

The preview shows a scene between Regoshi and another character named Haru, a rabbit. The scene implies that he is taken over by some kind of outside force that turns him feral and into a ferocious hunter.

The main protagonist is a wolf-man named Regoshi, who at first glance seems scary, but is actually quite gentle and sensitive.

Here’s to hoping it keeps our attention, it has mine for the moment for sure! We’ll keep you guys posted.

    For the furry haters:
Beastars is actually good you cowards.
This is coming from an avid furry hater. The concept of anthropomorphic animals is interesting, the following behind it is cancerous.

    Also, it’s Legoshi/Legosi with an L.

I’m glad they captured how creepy Legosi comes off to smaller animals. He looks really unsettling in this anime. Shame it looks like it’s in slow motion with the terribly low FPS but I hope it turns out well. The manga is amazing so far.

The only thing upsetting about this is how it will validate western furries.
