How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Season Two Announced

The second season of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord has been announced.

The anime follows Takuma Sakamoto, a powerful player of the MMORPG Cross Reverie. His character, the Demon Lord Diablo has high stats, powerful gear, and an intimidating appearance.

One night he is suddenly transported into the game world in the body of his character, summoned by two young girls who are mages. These are Shera L. Greenwood, a buxom elf and magical archer, and Rem Galleu, a pantheran magician.

Unfortunately for them, Diablo had a ring of spell reflection. The binding spell is turned back on the two summoners. Instead of binding Diablo as a summoned creature, the two girls are bound as slaves to Diablo.

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is based off the 2014 light novel series by Yukiya Murasaki, Takahiro Tsurusaki, and published by Kodansha. A manga for the series has been releasing since 2015. The first season premiered in 2018.

Now, the official website of the anime has announced it will be getting a second season. Voice actors from the first season will be reprising their roles as confirmed in an official news announcement.

Masaki Mizunaka will be voicing Diablo/Takuma Sakamoto, the summoned Demon Lord. Yu Serizawa will be voicing Shera L. Greenwood, and Azumi Waki will be voicing Rem Galleu. Additional voice roles have yet to be confirmed.

The first season was directed by Yuta Murano, and animated by Ajia-do Animation Works. It has not yet been confirmed at this time if either will be returning for the second season. We will keep you informed as we learn more.

The second season of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord premieres 2021. The first season is available on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and uncut on Amazon.
