Kyoto Animation Postpones Free! Movie

Kyoto Animation have announced that the Free! movie (Free!-Road to the World- the Dream) will be postponed.

Originally slated for Summer 2020, the films release has now been postponed due to “various circumstances”. One of these is almost certainly the Kyoto Animation arson attack. The attack took the lives of 36 people. 27 of the 33 injured employees have returned to work at the studio.

The announcement also stated that the team hoped to announce a new release date soon, and that they were working to meet fans expectations.

The Free! anime originally broadcast in 2013, with three compilation movies released in 2015, and two in 2017. The latest movie will see how the character’s “dreams” change as they grow, and how they wish to see each other again after growing apart.
