Maybe he’s going to steal the Statue of Liberty or something? Either way, the team behind Lupin III has announced that there will be a big announcement at this year’s AnimeNYC which is being hosted this weekend.

TMS Entertainment, the company that produces the Lupin III anime posted a cryptic tweet which included a rather flashy and in-character calling card from everyone’s favorite gentleman thief.

It’s surprising to see what could be a huge announcement made in a western venue, but the Lupin III franchise has been enjoying a renewed success after their recent 3D movie Lupin III: The First. A crossover film was announced earlier this year between Lupin and the lady thieves of Cat’s Eye.
