    My Master Has no Tail

    The upcoming anime series My Master Has No Tail will premiere this October as part of the Fall 2022 anime season.

    My Master Has No Tail follows the life of Mameda, a tanuki who wants to trick humans just like they used to do centuries ago. However in the Taisho era (1912-1925) she’s having a lot of trouble doing so!


    Luckily for her, she meets a young Rakugo (a traditional form of entertainment focusing on spoken word stories) performer who shows her that it’s still possible to trick humans, just not the way the tanuki are used to.

    The series will be the latest project from LIDENFILMS whose other work includes 2021’s Otherside Picnic and an upcoming Rurouni Kenshin anime project.

    At the time of publishing, an English release of My Master Has no Tail has yet to be announced.

    The manga is published in English by Kodansha.
