Pokemon Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution

The Pokemon Company have announced Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back — Evolution will be coming to Netflix.

For those unfamiliar, the movie is a remake of Pokemon: The First Movie, and is the first Pokemon movie entirely in CG. The current English dub voice actors of the Pokemon anime will be reprising their roles.

The film will also be considered a “Netflix Original,” despite being produced by OLM Inc. in July 2019. The film premiered in Los Angeles on July 4th, before Japan on July 12th.

You can find the full run-down (via the official Pokemon website) below:

In Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, researchers discover and exploit a fossil of the Mythical Pokémon Mew, unleashing a creation that goes against the very laws of nature: Mewtwo, a Legendary Pokémon intended for use as a tool of destruction. But as Mewtwo becomes aware of its own dubious origin, it begins to resent its human creators and seeks revenge—and Ash, Pikachu, and their friends find themselves at the center of its rampage!

Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back — Evolution premieres in the west on February 27th via Netflix. The date also coincides with Pokemon Day, celebrating the release of the original Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue video games.
