Record of Ragnarok

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming series Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok and will be distributing the series in English.

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok began as a manga series in 2017 by writers Takumi Fukui and Shinya Umemura, alongside artist Ajichika. The series is being animatd by studio Graphinica.

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok follows the events of the proposed end of humanity by a convocation of gods from across multiple pantheons. The convocation, led by Zeus has decided that humanity has grown too arrogant and and selfish and needs to be destroyed.

However Brunhild, one of the Norse Valkyries provokes the gods into invoking “Ragnarok”. Ragnarok, in the context of the series is a fighting tournament between men and gods where champions from history are called to face divine opponents in a bid for their survival.

The series is more shonen fighting than supernatural drama as intense battles between humanity’s heroes and the gods themselves unfold when the series begins airing this June.
