Terrace House: Tokyo 2019–2020

Fuji TV have announced the remaining episodes of Terrace House: Tokyo 2019–2020 have been cancelled, after the death of Hana Kimura.

We previously reported on the death of wrestler Hana Kimura, who was appearing on Japanese reality TV show Terrace House: Tokyo 2019–2020. The wide-spread assumption that her death was suicide lead to speculation if the show’s current season would be cancelled.

Now, the series official website has posted this message:

“We would like to express our sincere condolences for the death of Hana Kimura, who appeared on the program.
We also deeply mourn the bereaved families.

Regarding ‘TERRACE HOUSE TOKYO 2019-2020’, we have decided ot cancel the production.

Whether this means the cancellation of the current series or the entire show is unknown at this time. Recording had already ceased earlier due to concerns surrounding the current coronavirus pandemic.

The series follows six strangers (three men and women) living together, where drama and romance usually follows. Those featured on the show are still able to live their lives as normal (work and daily lives).

Netflix is the western distributor of the series for Fuji TV, making episodes available via their online streaming service with English subtitles.
