The upcoming film based on the series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is officially titled Scarlet Bond, likely referring to the character Benimaru who seems to play a large role.
The plot of the upcoming film is entirely original and doesn’t represent any of the story arcs currently in the light novel, manga, or its spinoff series. However don’t let its originality fool you into thinking it might disrespect the canon or existing story as the creator of the series known as “Fuse” is responsible for the movie’s plot.
At present, all that’s known is that the movie will feature a new country to the west of Tempest and introduce a new oni character who’s featured heavily in the trailer and promotional material.
A trailer for the film was released earlier this year, alongside the movie’s eventual November premiere date.
Originally beginning in 2013 as a novel series (before transitioning to a Light Novel format), That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has gone on to spawn a manga series, an anime, and even a video game.
