World’s End Harem to Receive TV Anime

The ecchi harem series World’s End Harem has announced on their official site that a TV anime series will be premiering sometime in 2021.

After the world has been devastated by a disease that his killed off all but 0.1% of the male population, Mizuhara Reito has awoken from a five year cryogenic sleep. Now him and four other men have been giving the task of repopulating the world- but Mizuhara only wants to find his love, Tachibana Erisa.

World’s End Harem is a 2016 manga series that began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service. The story is written by the anonymous author LINK, and the manga is drawn by artist Kotaro Shono.

The manga has been published in the west by Seven Seas Entertainment’s Ghost Ship imprint. Seven Seas Entertainment is also publishing English translations of the spinoff series World’s end Harem: Fantasia.

You can read the official rundown of the series from Seven Seas Entertainment below.

The Man-Killer Virus: a lethal disease that has eradicated 99.9% of the world’s male population. Mizuhara Reito has been in cryogenic sleep for the past five years, leaving behind Tachibana Erisa, the girl of his dreams. When Reito awakens from the deep freeze, he emerges into a sex-crazed new world where he himself is the planet’s most precious resource. Reito and four other male studs are given lives of luxury and one simple mission: repopulate the world by impregnating as many women as possible! All Reito wants, however, is to find his beloved Erisa who went missing three years ago. Can Reito resist temptation and find his one true love?

Due to the nature of the manga, we cannot help but wonder if the series will suffer a similar fate as Interspecies Reviewers. The show could risk being removed from Japanese TV channels (in this case Tokyo TV and Sun TV), or even dropped or refuse to be licenced by western companies (such as Funimation).

However, it is worth pointing out that Interspecies Reviewers did gain one Japanese channel, albeit with a censored broadcast.

There have been no announcements about the cast and crew for the World’s End Harem TV Anime, fans can check out the official series news blog, and check here on Nicchiban for updates.
